Helen's Choice of the Week: The Black Linen Dress

The Black Linen Dress.

There are very few pieces in my wardrobe that I would happily wear to almost any summer occasion. Gwen is one of them.

A gallery opening, drinks with friends, a summer dinner party, or even a beautifully understated wedding, this is the dress I instinctively reach for.

Crafted from premium Irish linen, Gwen has the effortless simplicity that I have always loved. In fact, the design is a reimagining of a dress from one of my very first Helen McAlinden collections.

When revisiting the original sketch, I was struck by how relevant it still felt. The clean lines, the ease of the silhouette and the confidence of a perfectly cut black dress remain as modern today as they were then.

Trends define some pieces. Others endure because they work. For me, Gwen belongs firmly in the second category.

Light, elegant and endlessly versatile, it is a dress designed to be worn and loved for years rather than seasons.
